WELCOME TO YOCO!

We are the Yoga Collective of Yakima, a donation-based yoga studio located in Yakima, WA. All are welcome to join us and experience a wide variety of classes. Whether you're new to yoga, an experienced practitioner, or simply visiting the central Washington area, we invite you to drop by our 1,000 square foot studio in Glenwood Square. We offer classes in English and Spanish, seven days a week, with a diverse range of styles and special events.

Our Mission

As a well-established 501(c)3 non-profit and a registered charity in Washington State, we're dedicated to providing accessible yoga and holistic classes to the Yakima community. Our volunteer-run organization fosters personal growth and well-being by breaking down financial, social, and mobility barriers.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Yes, we are at Glenwood Square which has ample parking on site. If the lot is full due to a special event, there is also street parking in the neighborhood and across the street at the vet’s office (evenings and weekends only).

  • Yes. Many of our classes are at a basic level and the teachers will offer ways to modify poses.

    Let the teacher know you are brand new to yoga, or returning to yoga after time away.

  • We typically open the doors about 30 minutes before class, so, if you are new to our studio,

    we suggest you arrive about 15 minutes before the stated class time. We will help you sign in,

    store your shoes and select your props, based on the teacher’s guidance.

  • Classes typically run for one hour with a few exceptions. Special events such as Ecstatic Dance

    are longer, but you can always leave early. Qigong is shorter, running 45 minutes. End times are noted on the calendar.

    • We are a scent-free studio and ask that you not wear fragrances to the studio.

    • Please remove your shoes after entering,

    • Silence your phones/watches

    • Clean your mats and props when you are finished using them.

    There are reminders posted in the studio about these guidelines.

  • There is no set requirement to donate. We ask that attendees provide support in whatever way they can. Donations can be made in the studio and online here on our “Donate” page.

    It costs our Collective about $60 to run a class, so many people donate a small amount each time they join us - $5 or $10 dollars, but all are welcome without regard to their ability to do so.

  • You do not need to bring anything, just wear comfortable clothes. We have mats, bolsters, blocks and other equipment available for you to use in the studio.

  • Our studio is accessible – we have an elevator in the building and ramps. We have chairs for use in chair yoga, singing bowls and other events.

    If you have a specific question or concern – reach out to us via the contact us page and a volunteer will address your concerns.

  • Our classes are created for adults. If your children are at least 8 years old and will join you, we ask that they be able to sit in our reception area with a quiet activity or participate along with the other students.

  • We offer Yoga classes in English and Spanish – These are basic classes designed for beginners with options for more advanced practitioners. We also offer AcroYoga, Tai Chi, Qigong, Belly Dance, Ecstatic Dance, Singing Bowls and have adaptive classes such as Chair Yoga.

  • No, you do not need to sign up in advance. There is no registration needed to attend, no memberships and no subscriptions.

    You can come once or come to every class, 7 days a week.

  • YES! If you want to stop in and join a class, please do!

    Every student started here by walking in the studio their first time – you will be in good company.

  • You can support YOCO in many ways:

    • Attending classes

    • Donating to YOCO - Donations can be made in the studio and online here on our “Donate” page.

    • Volunteering for projects, to be a teacher or to simply give us feedback and suggestions for new programs.

    We are a collective and we welcome community engagement.

  • Yes – we have special events – commonly on the Weekends, see our full schedule onlinehere.

  • Our schedule is typically set at the end of the prior month, and adjustments may be made if

    we are changing teachers for a particular class time. See our full schedule online here.

  • Yes. If you are pregnant, please ensure that your medical provider is engaged in your decisions about fitness activities and be sure to let the teacher know when you come to class.

  • If you are interested in special classes being arranged for groups, we have offerings to deliver

    Yoga in the Community. Please contact us to discuss your needs here.

    • We clean the mats and blocks after class ends.

    • We clean our floor daily.

    • Volunteers manage our laundry operations.

    • The studio is “scent free” and people do not eat or drink in the studio (water bottles are welcome – but remember to take them home!)

  • Our instructors have all completed teacher a certification. Some, via our Yoga Teacher
